The Upside of Down

I'm happy to announce that my new book, The Upside of Down, will go to press next week and will be officially released in January.

What do you think of the cover? Would you pick up the book based on the cover? Does the back cover blurb intrigue you?

From the back cover:

“Hmmm,” the doctor muttered.
Natalie wrinkled her forehead, almost afraid to ask, and said, “What does that mean?”
“You do know you’re pregnant, right?”
Her breath caught in her throat. “Excuse me?”
“You’re pregnant.”
Her heartbeat thundered in her ears. “I’m what?”

Natalie Drake certainly has her hands full raising a large family, dealing with her difficult mother, and maintaining a relationship with her rebellious teenager. Just when things seem to be going smoothly, she finds out another unexpected surprise—she’s going to have a baby. Faced with so many challenges, Natalie must learn to trust in a plan that isn’t what she imagined and discover that every situation has an upside.

Beloved author Rebecca Talley carefully creates this touching and heartfelt story that is sure to inspire you. With true-to-life characters and situations, The Upside of Down will reignite your faith and remind you of the importance of family.

Great title and an intriguing blurb. Well done.

It's a winner, Rebecca. Women for sure will be drawn to that baby on the cover by the hundreds. That whole theme of "unexpected surprises" is something so many people can identify with.

So you're sharing your release month with Don Carey's Bumpy Landings. Can't wait to get my hands on both these books!

Your cover is beautiful and will probably appeal to those in the "baby years" as will the blurb, but I'm not sure about your title. I assumed from it that the story was about a Downs Syndrome baby. The blurb sounds more like a surprise pregnancy or what we used to call a menopause baby. Is it both?

What a beautiful cover. So sweet. I'm interested to read it. I tried to get through Jewel, but could not relate to the mom at all and so my place is still bookmarked about half way through. Love our special needs kids!

I love the cover, Rebecca. The blurb has a good balance of letting us know about the surprise pregnancy without giving too much away.

Your book sounds awesome, Rebecca! I can't wait to read it. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping I'll love it so I can recommend it to all my special needs parenting groups. (If it's as good as your other books, it won't be a problem!)

Wow, thank you so much for all of your comments! I love the cover.

The title is a play on words. The story is about a woman who thinks she's spiritually invincible, but when her life is turned upside down finds out that she has to fight to keep her faith.
